The one thing that all grandmas hate is the tiny weany black furry spider starring at her straight in the eye as she is cleaning the house. The sound that comes out of her mouth is enough to make your back hairs stand to attention.
This is grandma's pantry list to keep spiders out of the house! Put up your DO NOT DISTURB smell now.
1. Essential oils:
Tea Tree, Mint, Peppermint, Spearmint, Lavender, Cinnamon, Citronella or Neem:
Add a couple of drops 5-7 drops of the essential oil of your choice to about 5-7 drops of natural dish
washing liquid and 1 quart of water.
If you like add a 1/2 cup of vinegar to the mix. Pour the mixture into a
spray bottle and shake it well. Spray this mist anytime you like to remind spiders & pest they are not welcome in your home!
2. Garlic – Chop up a few cloves of garlic and put in a spray bottle with water.
3. Tomato leaves -
Blend tomato leaves and mix with 4 pints of water and one tablespoon of
cornstarch.
4. Citrus juice –
Many spiders and insects hate the smell of citrus. Just cut up 1-2 lemons including rinds and mix with water. Orange or limes are great too.
5. Spicy repellent – Add cup of
vinegar and 2 tbs. of chili powder or hot chili sauce to 1 qt. of
water and shake until the ingredients are well mixed. Pour the mixture
into a spray bottle.
6. Chewing tobacco –
Get a package of pipe or chewing tobacco, soak it in a gallon of
boiling water until it cools. Put a cup of tobacco juice and 1/2 cup
lemon dish soap into a spray bottle.
Take charge and put up a VIP guest list of whose invited to your house.
The only one screaming will be the spiders as they lurk away to the next house without these smells.
